Boesmanskloof or Greyton-McGregor Trail

At the foot of the Galgeberg, 4km down hill you will find the GALG, where the 14 km Greyton-McGregor trail starts and winds through picturesque fynbos valleys and gorges, past mountain pools & waterfalls, and finishes in Greyton.

Kleinberg Trail

Situated just outside McGregor, along the old Robertson Road, is Kleinberg Trail. This two-hour walk offers spectacular views of McGregor. You end up on the "Badge Hill", where the McGregor crest lies.

Krans Nature Reserve

About 14km from Heaven View you will see interesting vegetation, lots of birds and magnificent views of the surrounding hills as well as the dam and the village. There are six short walks from entrances in Smit, Van Reenen & Voortrekker Streets. The heritage Society is the official custodian of the  Krans Nature Reserve.

Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve

Is situated about 19 km from Heavens View Mountain Resort and 5km outside McGregor on the Robertson Road. Self issue permits are available at Vrolijkheid Nature reserve for the following trails:

  •     Heron Trail

You will enjoy this easy 3km walk in about an hour of walking. The route leads over a flat terrain to two dams, each with an attractive bird hide.

  •   Rooikat Trail

This circular 18km trail is strenuous and requires 7 to 8 hours of walking. The Rooikat trail winds through the Elandsberg Mountains, and offer you scenic views of the Langeberg and Riviersonderend mountains.
